At staff meetings, we have taken time to write postcards to students. The task is simple: choose a child, write a few genuine words, and make sure every student receives a message from someone at school who sees something good in them.
A postcard is not a new initiative or a complicated strategy. It is a small pause in a very busy day to notice a student on purpose. That is precisely why it matters.
We may never know which message is saved, reread, or quietly needed on the day it arrives. We only know that every child deserves reminders that they are known, valued, and part of the school community.
